Cart Drawer Widget Setup

Many Shopify themes use a slide-out cart drawer instead of a dedicated cart page. Scrollengine's cart drawer widget integrates into this drawer so customers can select delivery preferences without leaving the page.

Adding the widget to your cart drawer

  1. Go to Widgets in the Scrollengine dashboard
  2. Click Install Widget
  3. Select Cart Drawer
  4. Follow the theme-specific instructions

Theme compatibility

Most modern Shopify themes support app blocks in the cart drawer. If your theme doesn't:

  1. Go to Shopify Admin > Online Store > Themes > Customize
  2. Open the Cart Drawer section
  3. Look for an "App Block" option and add Scrollengine
  4. If no app block option exists, you may need to add a code snippet — Scrollengine provides the snippet in the dashboard under Widgets > Manual Setup

Differences from the cart page widget

The cart drawer widget is functionally identical but optimized for the smaller drawer layout:

  • Compact view — Delivery methods stack vertically
  • Scrollable calendar — Calendar fits within the drawer width
  • Inline time slots — Slots appear below the calendar without expanding the drawer excessively

Configuration

The cart drawer widget shares settings with the cart page widget. Changes to delivery methods, rules, time slots, and text customization apply to both widgets.

To customize the drawer widget layout specifically, see Widget Layout Customization.

Testing

  1. Open your storefront
  2. Add a product to cart — the cart drawer should slide open
  3. Verify the Scrollengine widget appears within the drawer
  4. Test delivery method selection, address input, and time slot selection
  5. Proceed to checkout and confirm delivery preferences carry through
