Adding Locations
Store Locator Map: SE allows you to add your store locations manually through the app dashboard. Each location is geocoded automatically so it appears correctly on the map without requiring you to look up latitude and longitude coordinates.
Adding a New Locationโ
- Open the Store Locator Map: SE app from your Shopify admin.
- Navigate to Locations in the left sidebar.
- Click Add Location.
- Fill in the location details (described below).
- Click Save.
The location will be geocoded and immediately available on your store locator widget.
Location Fieldsโ
Required Fieldsโ
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Location name | The display name of the store (e.g., "Downtown Flagship Store"). |
| Address | The full street address. The app will auto-geocode this address to determine the map coordinates. |
Address and Auto-Geocodingโ
When you enter an address, the app uses the Google Maps Geocoding API to automatically resolve it into geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude). The resolved address is displayed for your confirmation.
- If the geocoded result does not match the intended location, you can manually adjust the coordinates using the Map Pin tool in the editor. Drag the pin to the correct position, and the coordinates will update accordingly.
- You can also enter coordinates directly in the Latitude and Longitude fields if you already have them.
Contact Informationโ
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Phone number | The store's phone number. Displayed as a clickable link on mobile devices. |
| Email address | A contact email for the location. |
| Website URL | A link to the store's dedicated webpage, if applicable. Opens in a new tab when clicked by customers. |
Hours of Operationโ
Set the business hours for each day of the week. For each day, you can:
- Specify an opening time and closing time.
- Mark the day as closed.
- Add multiple time ranges for locations with split hours (e.g., 9:00 AM -- 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM -- 5:00 PM).
For detailed configuration of hours, special schedules, and holidays, see Location Details and Hours.

- Services: "Repairs," "Custom Fitting," "Returns Accepted"
- Region: "West Coast," "Northeast," "International"

Syncing with Shopify Locationsโ
Store Locator Map: SE can optionally sync with the locations defined in your Shopify admin under Settings > Locations. When enabled, the app imports your existing Shopify locations and keeps them in sync.
To enable Shopify location sync:
- Go to Settings > General in the app.
- Toggle Sync with Shopify Locations on.
- Review the imported locations and add any additional details (hours, tags, images) as needed.
Shopify location sync imports the store name and address. Additional fields such as phone number, hours, and tags must be configured within the Store Locator Map: SE app.
Next Stepsโ
- Bulk Import -- Import many locations at once using a CSV file.
- Location Details and Hours -- Configure detailed business hours, holiday schedules, and amenities.
