Holidays & Blackout Dates

Block out dates when your store is closed or when you can't fulfill deliveries. Customers won't be able to schedule orders on these dates.

Adding a holiday or blackout date

  1. Go to Scheduling > Holidays
  2. Click Add Holiday
  3. Enter:
    • Date — The specific date (or date range)
    • Name — A label for your reference (e.g., "Christmas Day", "Inventory Day")
    • Affected methods — Choose which delivery methods are unavailable (all, or specific ones)

Recurring holidays

For holidays that repeat annually (e.g., New Year's Day, Independence Day):

  • Add them once and mark as Recurring
  • Scrollengine will automatically block the same date each year

Partial closures

If you're closing only part of the day or only for certain methods:

  • Instead of a full blackout, adjust your Time Slots for that date
  • For example, close delivery but keep pickup available on a holiday

How customers see it

  • Blackout dates appear as unavailable (greyed out) on the calendar widget
  • Customers cannot select these dates
  • If today is a blackout date, only future available dates are shown

Planning ahead

  • Add holidays at the start of each quarter or year
  • Consider adding blackout dates for:
    • Public holidays
    • Staff training days
    • Inventory counts
    • Severe weather events (add these ad-hoc)

Removing a blackout date

  1. Go to Scheduling > Holidays
  2. Find the date in the list
  3. Click Remove
  4. The date becomes available to customers immediately
