Shipping Setup
In addition to local delivery and pickup, Scrollengine supports a shipping method for orders that need to be sent via carriers to customers outside your local delivery zone.
Enabling shipping
- Go to Delivery Methods
- Toggle Shipping to enabled
When to use shipping
Shipping is useful when:
- A customer's address is outside your local delivery zone
- You want to offer a carrier-based option alongside local delivery
- Some products are only available for shipping (not local delivery or pickup)
Configuration
Shipping as a fallback
Configure shipping to appear automatically when a customer's address is outside your delivery zone:
- Customers in your delivery zone see local delivery and pickup options
- Customers outside your zone see only shipping (and pickup, if applicable)
This ensures every customer has a fulfillment option regardless of location.
Scheduling for shipping
You can optionally allow customers to select a preferred shipping date:
- Date selection — Enable to let customers pick a ship-by date
- Without scheduling — Orders are processed and shipped as soon as possible
Shipping fees
Shipping fees are typically managed through Shopify's native shipping rates. Scrollengine's shipping method integrates with Shopify's shipping configuration rather than replacing it.
How it appears to customers
When shipping is enabled, the delivery widget shows it as an option alongside local delivery and pickup. The customer selects Shipping, enters their address, and (optionally) selects a date.
Order management
Shipping orders appear in the Order Dashboard alongside delivery and pickup orders, tagged with the "Shipping" method. You can filter orders by method to manage each type separately.
